Adebisi Shank are a three Piece rock trio based in Wexford, Ireland. The band has toured Europe and Japan extensively and are on three different labels worldwide; Richter Collective, Big Scary Monsters and Parabolica Records.
Adebisi Shank’s reputation lies firmly within the experimental post-hardcore tradition, as the band utilize varying degrees of dissonance and irregular rhythms to reflect a web of influences that range from metal, post-punk, blues and funk, producing a sound that is both accessible and disquieting.
Formed in 2006, Adebisi Shank released their debut EP This is the EP of a band called Adebisi Shank. A year later. the band released their debut album This Is the Album of a Band Called Adebisi Shank. Which was recorded in Baltimore by legendary indie producer J. Robbins (Clutch, Faraquet, Jawbox) and was mastered by TJ Lipple at Inner Ear studios in Washington. On August 20, 2010, Adebisi Shank’s 2nd album This Is The Second Album Of A Band Called… was released.
A band to watch, and far more importantly listen too – Adebisi Shank have stepped beyond the “Math rock” label, coming into their own and taking us all happily with them.
