ズクナシ (Zukunasi) rocks with rockin’ soul and funky blues! Having been strongly influenced by African American music, ズクナシ’s music is a blend of 60’s to 70’s R&B, soul, and gospel. If Janis Joplin, or Aretha Franklin were Japanese – Zukunasi’s Emi might be their sister, and more than just soul sister.
Formed in 2002, this all Japanese female soul band first met at university. In 2005, the band signed with UK Project and released “GOTiSOUL.” In 2007, the band began a bi-monthly one-man live show at Shibuya BYG — in 2009, the show was moved to Shimokitazawa CLUB QUE and has been there ever since.
